The 6th Egypt-Morocco Business Forum started on Saturday in Cairo, under the theme “Towards an Arab-African Partnership,” with the participation of economic stakeholders from both countries.
The Moroccan Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative of Morocco to the Arab League, Mohamed Ait Ouali, and Egypt’s Deputy Foreign Minister and former Ambassador to Morocco, Ashraf Ibrahim, attended the forum.
The forum allows Moroccan and Egyptian investors to strengthen their presence and expand in Africa, as well as provide chances for cooperation and attracting investment. It also enables Morocco to showcase the role of financial and banking institutions in facilitating trade and investment operations.
During the forum, Egypt’s Omal Misr Complex and the Union of Moroccan Self-Entrepreneurs signed a cooperation agreement to enhance the skills of self-employed entrepreneurs through specialized training and support in developing action plans and feasibility studies for projects.
Ambassador Ait Ouali noted in his speech that “Morocco has made significant progress over the past 25 years, particularly in the economic and human development,” pointing out that Morocco now occupies a prominent position regionally, continentally, and globally.
Ait Ouali highlighted the Moroccan-Egyptian cooperation success in all areas, especially as both countries serve as essential gateways to Africa.
Samira Achiri, President of the Foundation of Moroccan Children in Egypt for Development and organizer of the event, noted the strong desire to strengthen ties between Morocco and Egypt in all areas, pointing out the historical and close relations between the two countries.
Haitham Hussein, Chairperson of the Omal Misr Complex Board, said that “Morocco, with its geographic position as a gateway between Africa and Europe, and Egypt, as a central hub in the Arab world and gateway to the Middle East, have all the conditions to drive regional and Arab development.”
The event’s program included discussions on “Investment and Morocco-Egyptian Economic Opportunities,” “Entrepreneurship and Vision 2030 in the Arab and African Context,” “Towards a Green Economy and Energy Transition for Sustainable Development,” and “Women and Entrepreneurship: Transformation and Empowerment.”
