Barbara Leaf, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, praised King Mohammed VI’s ongoing valued contributions to shared global priorities during her visit to Rabat on Friday.
Among the King’s efforts, Leaf highlighted the Moroccan Monarch’s crucial role in promoting stability and security. In addition, Leaf emphasized the significance of Morocco’s decisive voice in promoting a more peaceful and secure Middle East.
She also commended Morocco’s leadership in addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza, describing the Kingdom’s enduring commitment to peaceful coexistence as an inspiring model for the region.
The diplomat underscored that her meeting with Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reinforced the strong partnership and close coordination between Morocco and the US on regional and global priorities.
She noted, “Morocco is one of our oldest and closest allies,” and discussed avenues for deepening bilateral relations, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) wrote.
The discussions highlighted shared goals, including advancing peace, stability, and economic development in the region and Africa.
