The DR Congo TP Mazembe women’s team claimed the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024 title with a 1-0 victory over Morocco’s AS FAR in Saturday’s final at El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida.
Coached by Moroccan Lamia Boumehdi, TP Mazembe won the title thanks to a penalty goal by Marlene Kasaj Yav in the 10th minute of the match.
TP Mazembe also won $ 600,000 in prize money, while runners-up AS FAR earned $ 400,000.
In the third-place match, Egypt’s FC Masar triumphed over Nigeria’s Edo Queens in a penalty shootout (4-3) after a goalless draw in regular time on Friday.
