Morocco highlighted its vision for a more sophisticated and sustainable approach to its logistics and transport sectors on Tuesday during the eighth International Forum and African Transport Exhibition (FISAT) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
FISAT serves as a major hub for networking and knowledge-sharing among professionals in the transport industry in Africa. The exhibition focuses on bolstering the growth of transport, logistics, and infrastructure while maintaining principles of sustainability and modernization.
Marsa Maroc, Morocco’s main port operator, has also set up an exhibition stand to highlight its strategic mission and significant role in developing and modernizing Morocco’s ports.
Ivory Coast’s Deputy Minister for Maritime Affairs, Serey Doh Célestin, underscored the importance of developing transport infrastructure and called on all stakeholders “to take action” and modernize Africa’s transport infrastructure.
“The [FISAT] forum represents a crucial platform to redefine our approaches and ensure that transport policies address users’ needs and act as catalysts for economic and social development,” Doh Célestin said.
He also urged investors to push for digitization on all levels and ensure the safety and sustainability of logistics services.
Morocco’s pavilion hosted several representatives of the Kingdom’s transport and logistics organizations, such as the Ministry of Transport and Logistics (MTL), the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA), the Moroccan Agency for Logistics Development (AMDL) , and the National Transport and Logistics Company (SNTL).
