The Moroccan national team was drawn in Group A of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, according to the draw held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, near Rabat on Friday.
Group A also includes the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, and Zambia.
Group B is comprised of Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana, while Group C includes South Africa, Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania.
The President of the African Football Confederation (CAF) Dr. Patrice Motsepe attended the draw ceremony in Salé.
The 13th WAFCON is scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025. Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Stadium will host the tournament’s opening and final matches, while Casablanca’s Mohammed V and Larbi Zaouli Stadiums will host the other games.
South Africa claimed victory in the previous tournament, hosted by Morocco in 2022.
