China’s President Xi Jinping departed from Morocco on Friday afternoon after a brief visit the day before, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Upon his departure from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch greeted Xi before reviewing a military procession by the Royal Navy.
Many Moroccan officials came to see the president arrive at the airport including Mohamed Mhidia, Governor of the Casablanca-Settat region and the Casablanca Prefecture; Abdellatif Maazouz, President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council; Jalal Benhayoun, Governor of the Nouaceur Province; Mohamed Salmani, President of the Nouaceur Provincial Council; and Abdelaziz Radi, President of the Nouaceur Commune.
In addition, there were numerous official representatives from Chinese establishments in Morocco including Li Changlin, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco; Zhou Zhicheng, Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy; Xia Kelin, Military Attaché to the Chinese Embassy; and Zheng Wei, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy also welcomed the President.
During his visit to the Kingdom, the Chinese delegation included the Head of State along with Cai Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Director-General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC); Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission; and Hua Chunying, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
