Mohamed Ould Errachid, Morocco’s Speaker of the Upper House, welcomed Ana Brnabić, President of the National Assembly of Serbia, during her parliamentary visit to Morocco on Wednesday in Rabat. The visit underscored the long-standing friendship between the two nations, which have had diplomatic relations since 1957, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Ould Errachid highlighted Brnabić’s visit as a reflection of the partnership between the two nations, which took another step forward on October 2, 2020, when Serbia voiced its support for Morocco’s Sahara autonomy plan.
“The position of Serbia is consistent with the growing international backing for Morocco’s vision under the leadership of King Mohammed VI,” he said.
Ould Errachid invited Brnabić to visit Morocco’s southern provinces “to witness the region’s significant economic growth.”
Brnabić recognized Morocco’s advancements in political, economic, and social development. She affirmed Serbia’s readiness to collaborate with Morocco in areas of mutual interest.
She was optimistic about the potential to expand economic ties with the Kingdom to match the strong political relationship between the countries.
