The coach of Morocco’s national women’s football club AS FAR, Mohamed Amine Alioua, said on Tuesday that his team is “sure to win” the match against Egypt’s FC Masar in the semi-final of the CAF Women’s Champions League. He projected that the final against TP Mazembe will be “completely different” from his team’s opening match against the same rival.
In the post-match press conference following AS FAR’s 2-1 win over FC Masar at El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida, Alioua stated that his players had handled the pressure well throughout the match, particularly after conceding a surprise goal in the final minutes. He also highlighted that “experience is crucial in such matches.
”The AS FAR coach praised the performance of goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi. She has been “decisive since the start of the competition and saved a penalty in this match,” he said.
Regarding the final against Congo’s TP Mazembe, Alioua assured fans that AS FAR “will maintain the same energy and will raise the national flag, take the trophy at home, and meet the expectations of Moroccan fans.”
Khadija Er-Rmichi, who was named the match’s best player, said she is “honored” to have reached the final in Morocco, describing her award as “the result of collective effort.”
FC Masar’s coach, Ahmed Ramadan, said that it was his team’s first time participating in the competition. “We played against a strong, experienced, and well-motivated team,” he said.
“I have no regrets. We reached the semi-final, and now there’s still a small final to play, which we are seeking win.”
