President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Karoline Leavitt, 27, as his White House press secretary, making her the youngest person to hold the position, Reuters reported.
Leavitt, known for her strong defense of Trump in the media, has earned his trust and support with her direct approach.
Trump said he is confident in her abilities, saying, “I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium,” and added that her role would be key in delivering his administration’s message.
Leavitt’s primary task will be to communicate the administration’s agenda while balancing transparency and loyalty to Trump, a delicate challenge in today’s contentious political climate.
Her professional background includes serving as communications director for Trump ally Representative Elise Stefanik following the 2020 election.
She also ran for Congress in 2022, winning the Republican primary but losing the general election.
The experience helped strengthen her public speaking skills, preparing her for this high-profile role.
