Police stationed at Morocco’s Tanger Med Port in northern Morocco thwarted an international drug trafficking attempt, seizing 188,102 Ecstasy pills on Saturday morning.
Authorities reported finding the illicit substances in an international freight transport vehicle traveling from a European country, according to a press release from the National Police (DGSN).
Officers detained two Moroccan nationals, the truck driver and his aide, aged 41 and 44.
The suspects are now in custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office into who else may be connected to the criminal activities, with an eye on regional and global links.
