Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) expects showers, accompanied by snow across mountainous areas and strong stormy winds in several southern regions of the country on Friday and Saturday.
In an amber weather alert, the DGM forecast strong winter weather in the provinces of Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Azilal, and Taroudant starting from 3:00 p.m. on Friday, until the same time on Saturday with approximately 30 to 50 mm of rainfall.
The directorate also projects strong stormy winds (ranging from 75 to 90 km/h) in Chichaoua, Essaouira, Boulemane, Taourirt, and Figuig from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday. It also anticipates winds in Midelt, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Ouarzazate from 11:00 a.m. on Friday until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, at altitudes exceeding 1,500 meters.
