Spain’s Foreign Affairs Minister Jose Manuel Albares highlighted on Monday the importance of strengthening cultural ties between Spain and Morocco, describing it as a “strategic partner” and a “friendly country.”
Speaking at the first meeting of the Global Spanish Observatory in Madrid, Albares said that Spain is working to promote the presence of the Spanish language in Morocco as part of broader efforts to enhance cultural connections between the two countries.
Spain’s FM also announced the launch of two comprehensive studies on the status of the Spanish language in Morocco and Brazil. The studies will focus on expanding the presence of the language in key regions.
The Global Spanish Observatory will conduct these studies to evaluate the impact and role of the Spanish language in strategic areas such as science, technology, and diplomacy.
The initiative will make the promotion of the Spanish language a priority that deepens Spain’s cultural and linguistic connections with partner countries such as Morocco, Albares added.
