An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Imi Isli area of the Anjal municipality, Al Haouz province, early on Friday morning, according to the seismic monitoring site.
The earthquake happened at 8:38 a.m. local time, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was at 31.150°N and 8.279°W.
This tremor follows a major earthquake that struck Morocco on September 8, 2023, severely affecting the Al Haouz region and causing widespread destruction.
The 2023 earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, killed almost 3,000 people and destroyed approximately 60,000 homes leaving many completely inhabitable or partially damaged. The 2023 earthquake was one of the most devastating in Morocco’s recent history.
