In collaboration with Irish budget carrier, Ryanair, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) launched two new direct flights connecting Dakhla, southern Morocco, to two major European destinations: Madrid, Spain, and Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, according to converging media reports.
The new Madrid-Dakhla route will operate twice a week, linking Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, one of Spain’s busiest hubs, to Dakhla.
The new route combines Spain’s wider tourist market with Madrid’s international reach. The new route could help raise Dakhla’s profile across Europe.
Ryanair also launched the Lanzarote-Dakhla route, which will operate twice a week as well. The connection enhances Ryanair’s existing coverage of Morocco from the Canary Islands, where the airline already has a strong presence.
With these additions, Dakhla’s airport will now offer 29,000 additional international seats annually, doubling its capacity for international travelers.
