Morocco’s newly appointed Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, inaugurated a new dialysis center on Wednesday in Casablanca-Anfa, estimated at MAD 20.7 million.
The center spans 399 square meters with a capacity of over 300 patients who suffer kidney failure.
In a partnership between the Health Ministry and the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), and with support from the Casablanca Prefecture Council and the Amal Foundation for Dialysis and Social Services, the new healthcare facility will strengthen medical services in the Casablanca-Settat region, particularly in Casablanca.
Tahraoui told Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) that the center is equipped with a professional medical team to ensure continuous, high-quality care to save wait times for dialysis patients across all regions and provinces of the country.
Mustapha Faouzi, President of the Amal Foundation for Dialysis and Social Services, noted that “this is the 32nd dialysis center inaugurated in Morocco and the Sahel region.”
In addition to care services, the center provides training and research, particularly in kidney transplantation.
The new center encompasses five floors, featuring patient care and treatment facilities as well as administrative spaces that include three dialysis rooms, a water treatment room, a pharmacy, a consultation room, a reception area, and a training and research center focused on kidney transplantation, among other areas.
Casablanca-Settat Governor Mohamed Mhidia, Casablanca-Anfa Prefecture Governor Aziz Dades, Regional Council President Abdellatif Maâzouz, and Casablanca City Council Mayor Nabila Rmili, attended the opening ceremony, along with other prominent figures.
