Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) won the title of “Most Welcoming Destination” at the Arab Travel Awards on Tuesday. The ceremony took place during the World Travel Market (WTM), held from November 5-7 in London.
The award highlights Morocco’s commitment to the hospitality area, enhancing its appeal and solidifying its brand position in the UK market as a premier tourist destination.
At the 2024 WTM, ONMT showcased Morocco’s offerings through an 800-square-meter pavilion, a VIP networking area, and spaces for the featured regions of the year: Marrakech-Safi and Agadir-Souss Massa, two of Morocco’s most popular destinations for British tourists.
The pavilion also highlights Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, diverse cuisine, and artisanal craftsmanship. 54 co-exhibitors participated in the event to strengthen partnerships with international travel companies and increase Morocco’s visibility in both the UK and global markets.
In line with the “Light in Action” strategy, ONMT’s participation in WTM draws parallel with its ongoing efforts to expand Morocco’s international presence and drive growth in key markets.
For 44 years, WTM London has been perceived as the travel industry’s most important event, gathering professionals from around the world. In 2023, it welcomed over 40,000 professionals from 184 countries.
Over 4,000 exhibitors are set to participate in this year’s WTM, a 7% increase from 2023, which indicates a growing global interest in the travel industry.
