Drones from the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have allegedly targeted a group of Polisario terrorists near Gleibat El Foula in southwestern Moroccan Sahara who were attempting to travel through the Moroccan territories posing as Mauritanian civilians, according to well-informed sources.
The hit reportedly included a convoy of four vehicles bearing Mauritanian license plates, three of which were heading toward the F’Derick region in Mauritania, a northern city in Tiris Zemmour, near the mining center of Zouerate.
Details remain unknown about the fourth vehicle, which was allegedly found isolated at the site of the incident and had been burnt out with its passengers still inside.
“The Polisario seeks to portray this as an unwarranted attack on civilians, although these vehicles were being used for terrorist or illegal purposes, which likely prompted the targeted intervention by the Moroccan army,” the sources said.
