Morocco’s King Mohammed VI congratulated American Republican Donald J. Trump on his re-election as President of the United States on Wednesday.
In his message, the King extended his best wishes for Trump’s success in his role and in his efforts to serve the American people.
The monarch noted that “Trump’s decisive victory in these elections reflects recognition of his patriotism and confirms his continued commitment to upholding the supreme interests of the United States, ‘Morocco’s long-standing friend and ally’,” Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) quoted.
The sovereign said, “Morocco and the United States share a historical alliance and strategic partnership that has stood the test of time.” In the statement, King Mohammed VI highlighted: “The values we share and our common interests across a wide range of areas have enabled us to work together toward a better future for our peoples, making our relationship a driving force for peace, security, and prosperity in the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.”
The King also recalled that during Trump’s previous term, as 45th President, bilateral relations reached an unprecedented level when the US recognized Morocco’s full sovereignty over its Sahara.
“As we face increasingly complex regional and global challenges, Morocco will, more than ever, remain a true friend and loyal ally of the United States,” the King wrote, reaffirming his determination to work closely with Trump to “further promote our shared interests and strengthen our unique alliance across all levels of cooperation.”
