Morocco’s pavilion stood out during the inauguration of the 12th World Urban Forum on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Adib Benbrahim, Secretary of State to the Minister of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy, presided over the opening ceremony, highlighting Morocco’s ongoing participation in the annual forum.
He emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the United Nations and UN-Habitat.
The World Urban Forum is the second-largest event sponsored by the United Nations, after climate conferences.
The forum features numerous activities and events addressing various themes related to sustainable and inclusive urban development.
A delegation from several ministries, public institutions, and elected bodies represented Morocco during the inauguration, including the Ministries of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy, the Interior, Economy, and Finance, as well as Morocco’s financial arm (CDG), the Al Omrane Group, and urban agencies.
