Alfred Mignot des Campani, director of AfricaPresse.Paris (APP), highlighted Morocco’s standout progress over the past 25 years on Tuesday, noting that France’s elites have recognized it as “unique in Africa.”
In a statement to Morocco’s News Agency (MAP), Campani underscored the kingdom’s rapid development since King Mohammed VI ascended the throne in 1999.
“Morocco has heavily invested in infrastructure, including the construction of Tangier Med port, the largest container port in Africa,” he said.
The country’s development is further supported by a nationwide expansion of highways, now totaling 2,000 kilometers, and a forward-looking energy transition, including notable advancements in renewable energy such as the Noor solar complex in Ouarzazate and the green hydrogen Power-to-X initiative.
Des Campani also highlighted Morocco’s international policies and diplomatic strategies, with Étienne Giros, Head of the French Council of Investors in Africa (CIAN), saying in 2019, “The French should now look to Morocco to learn from its pan-African strategy.”
