Morocco’s army is preparing to add Turkish Bayraktar Kizilelma TB3 stealth drones to its unmanned aerial vehicle arsenal, defense outlet Military Africa reported.
Morocco boasts one of the largest fleets of military drones in Africa. Since 2021, the Kingdom has acquired Bayraktar TB2 combat drones through several deals, the first valued at approximately USD 70 million.
To prepare for the acquisition of the hypersonic Bayraktar Kizilelma drones, a delegation of Moroccan military personnel has undergone training programs in Turkey to master piloting the aircraft.
In its efforts to enhance defense capabilities and military equipment, Morocco considers drones vital to its national security strategy.
The Kingdom’s military drone market includes categories such as surveillance, reconnaissance, and armed drones. Turkish models like the Bayraktar TB2 and Anka provide a compelling balance of endurance, payload capacity, and operational versatility at a relatively affordable price.
