Nador’s El Aroui Airport, located in northeastern welcomed 815,419 passengers through its terminals from January to September, a 1.58% increase from the same period last year, according to data from the National Airports Office (ONDA).
In September alone, 96,009 passengers entered the Kingdom through the airport, up slightly from 94,865 in September 2023. However, air traffic fell by 5.84% in September, with 726 flights compared to 771 a year earlier.
ONDA also reported a year-to-date decrease in total aircraft movements, with 6,161 flights recorded in the first nine months compared to 6,330 last year.
The facility Airport ranks seventh in commercial air traffic nationally, following Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Fez, and Rabat.
Morocco’s airports overall set a new record, serving 24,274,324 passengers by the end of September—a nearly 20% rise from last year. The most significant growth was registered at Rabat-Salé Airport (+42.77%), followed by Agadir (+36.5%), Dakhla (+35.94%), Marrakech (+33.88%), Tetouan (+31.09%), and Tangier (+21.91%).
