Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) officers stationed at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport apprehended a 30-year-old Frenchman of Algerian origin on Friday, against whom an international arrest warrant had been issued based on his alleged involvement in death threats, property damage, contempt of a public official, and trespassing on private property, a security source reported.
After verifying the Interpol database, the police identified the individual as the subject of a “red notice” issued at the behest of the National Central Bureau in Paris in connection with his presumed involvement in the alleged offenses.
He was remanded into police custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
The Interpol Bureau in Rabat is responsible for notifying the relevant French authorities of his detention before initiating extradition procedures.
