Morocco signed two new defense cooperation agreements, one with the Czech Republic and the other with Azerbaijan, at the 7th annual Marrakech Airshow on Wednesday.
Abdeltif Loudyi, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, hosted Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová and Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov at the signing ceremony in Marrakech.
Morocco’s most senior Army General Mohammed Berrid attended the meeting along with the Ambassadors of both nations.
The two pacts provide for cooperation in critical areas including military training, joint exercises, cybersecurity, defense industry support, technical exchanges, and military healthcare.
The partnerships seek to boost Morocco’s military expertise and enhance technical capabilities in line with the Kingdom’s strategic goals.
Both Černochová and Hasanov highlighted their countries’ commitment to deepening relations with Morocco. They voiced strong support for Morocco’s role as a stabilizing force and acknowledged its economic and social progress under King Mohammed VI’s leadership.
They described Morocco as a “beacon” of peace and stability in both the Euro-Mediterranean and African regions.
During the discussions, the three countries outlined a roadmap for future cooperation, which includes regular official visits and continuing dialogue to ensure the agreements produce tangible benefits for all parties involved.
