Morocco’s Princess Lalla Hasnaa welcomed France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, to the Garden of Botanical Tests on Tuesday in Rabat, upon which the First Lady reviewed an honor guard from Morocco’s Auxiliary Forces.
Students from several eco-schools greeted Lalla Hasnaa and Brigitte Macron before they began their tour of the Garden. During their visit, they attended a presentation of the various activities of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection.
The princess and Brigitte Macron also attended a presentation regarding the garden’s educational trail for children, including a learning tool centered around the cactus, a symbolic plant of arid regions. They also learned about the Youth Environmental Reporters Program, designed to cultivate a generation of children educated in sustainable development.
They also learned about an educational model promoting best practices for sustainable water management, highlighting everyday eco-responsible actions. The project is one of the foundation’s flagship initiatives.
The princess and Macron participated in an aromatic plant workshop, featuring sensory activities designed for preschool children. They also took a commemorative photo.
Since its inception, the Mohammed VI Foundation has focused on environmental education as a core mission. Recognizing the importance of environmental issues, the foundation follows a collaborative and inclusive approach to raising public awareness, promoting shared responsibility, and fostering sustainable changes in behavior.
The foundation begins its outreach at the preschool level, convinced that early childhood is critical for shaping lifelong habits. It runs special programs to introduce young children to simple actions that protect natural resources.
Through its wide range of programs and initiatives, the foundation has become a key player in sustainable development education, working towards a future where young generations are equipped with the knowledge and tools to face tomorrow’s environmental challenges.
Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada; the Governor of the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra Region, Mohamed Yacoubi; the President of Agdal-Riad District, Abdelilah Bouzidi; and the Vice President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, Lalla Nouzha Alaoui, greeted Lalla Hasnaa and Macron.
Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Younes Shimi, and the Head of the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra Regional Academy of Education and Training and Director of Human Resources, Mohamed Aderdour also offered their greetings.
