The City of Trades and Skills (CMC) in Nador hosted an award ceremony for Morocco’s 5th national innovation competition on Saturday, recognizing three groundbreaking projects from emerging Moroccan startups, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Rabat’s El Kettani Badreddine won first place with his project, “Safe Touch Innovation,” which includes two automatic disinfection products—one for door handles and another for escalators and moving walkways—designed to ensure continuous cleanliness and hygiene.
Saâd Eddine El Alami from Oujda won second place with his “Safety Driving” project, a road safety alert system that warns drivers of imminent dangers on the road or in their surroundings.
Third place went to Oumaima Lhaïd from Casablanca, who presented her “EDELSTER” project, a machine that sorts textile scraps, separating fabric from cardboard and plastic.
Sponsored by the Valbiom Maroc Cluster, in partnership with the Office of Vocational Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT), the CMC, and the Oriental Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, the annual competition aims to foster and support emerging companies and innovative projects.
