Heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, and localized hail, as well as snowfall and cold weather, are expected from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces of Morocco, according to Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) amber weather alert.
DGM projects rainfall from 35-50mm between Monday at midnight and Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. in the provinces of Taourirt, Figuig, Guercif, Boulemane, Errachidia, Tinghir, and Midelt.
DGM forecasts rainfall between 25-30mm on Monday from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Sefrou, Taza, Béni Mellal, Azilal, Mdiq-Fnideq, and Fahs-Anjra.
The directorate also expected Snowfall between 10-40 cm above 2000 meters in the provinces of Boulemane, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Midelt, Guercif, and Ouarzazate from Monday at midnight to Tuesday at 6:00 a.m.
Cold temperatures, ranging from -3°C to 3°C, would affect the provinces of Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, Midelt, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Boulemane, and Ifrane from Monday to Wednesday.
