The number of new companies created in Morocco reached 54,643 in the first seven months of 2024, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).
The companies include 39,434 legal entities and 15,209 individual enterprises.
Commerce dominated the sectoral distribution at 34.72%, followed by construction and real estate at 19.10%, various services at 18.87%, transportation at 7.94%, industry at 7.28%, hotels and restaurants at 5.60%, information, and communication technologies at 2.77%, financial activities at 2.11%, and agriculture and fishing at 1.61%.
Casablanca-Settat led the regions with the most investments, with 17,234 new companies by the end of July. It was followed by Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima with 7,822, Rabat-Sale-Kenitra with 6,399, and Marrakech-Safi with 6,214.
Other regions included Fes-Meknes with 3,842, companies, Souss-Massa with 3,610, the eastern region with 3,246, Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra with 2,121, Beni Mellal-Khenifra with 1,613, Draa-Tafilalet with 1,262, Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab with 837, and Guelmim-Oued Noun with 443.
In terms of legal structure, single-member limited liability companies (SARL AU) hold the majority with a share of 64.9%, followed by limited liability companies (SARL) at 34.5%.
