Belgian-Moroccan football player Ismael Baouf has decided to play for Morocco on the international stage. His father, former footballer Rachid Baouf, confirmed his son’s decision in an interview with “Al Araby.”
“Ismael has chosen Morocco with all his heart and soul,” he said, Belgian outlet “Voetbalprimeur” reported. “We are very proud of him. I hope he will soon prove his worth.”Currently, Baouf plays as a defender for the Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht (RSCA) Futures, often referred to as RSCA Futures. The team serves as the reserve squad for the well-known Belgian club, RSC Anderlecht.
Baouf previously wore the Belgian national jersey, playing for the U15 through U19 categories.
Although he has only played once for Morocco’s U20 team, participating in a friendly match against France, his decision marks a significant commitment to the Lions of the Atlas.
At just 18 years old, Baouf has accumulated 352 minutes of playing time this season with RSCA Futures, demonstrating his potential and skills on the field.
