Rabat’s Hassan II Park hosted the “Jedari Art”- Graffiti Art- exhibition, part of the “Qatar-Morocco 2024 Cultural Year” initiative, where six Moroccan and Qatari graffiti artists seek to foster cultural exchange and dialogue through collaborative art, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Hosted under the “Years of Culture” program, the initiative showcases works by artists from both nations, featuring graffiti murals displayed side by side across the park’s open spaces. The setting invites visitors into a shared creative world, exploring common cultural threads while appreciating each country’s unique artistic expressions.
Moroccan artist Hamza Marmouche highlighted the significance of green in his mural, explaining that “while it represents the olive tree in Moroccan culture, in Qatar, it symbolizes the palm tree.”
Qatari artist Mubarak Nasser Al-Thani’s mural “blends Levantine and Moroccan architectural styles,” showcasing “the deep-rooted connections between the two nations despite their geographic distance.”
The exhibition promotes the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Cultural Year, celebrating the strong ties between the two countries and honoring the relationship between Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar.
