Three people died, and eight were injured in two building collapses caused by a gas explosion in Santander, northern Spain, late Friday night, according to Cantabria’s emergency services on X (formerly Twitter).
The explosion occurred around 2:00 AM GMT (4:00 AM local time) in a small residential building, igniting a fire and causing part of the structure to collapse, Santander Mayor Gema Igual said.
All injured individuals were transported to the hospital, according to the same source.

The surrounding buildings have been evacuated for safety reasons.
