Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) and Customs officers at the Tanger-Med Port thwarted an attempt to smuggle 209,000 pills of ecstasy on Thursday.
The authorities found the pills hidden in a vehicle bearing a foreign license plate arriving from Belgium, meticulously concealed in cat food containers, according to a security source.
The driver, a Moroccan national with Belgian citizenship, is now in custody under the supervision of public prosecutor’s office.
