The Export Control and Coordination Establishment (EACCE), now known as “Morocco Foodex,” is gearing up to launch a digital platform in 2025 to showcase Morocco’s export capabilities, according to the government’s report on public institutions and enterprises (EEP) that accompanied the 2025 appropriations bill.
The report, available on the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s website, outlines Foodex’s 2025 action plan, which includes Morocco’s participation in various international trade fairs. The plan also establishes a B2B mission in East Africa to promote fisheries products and to organize an incoming delegation that would include importers from Eastern Europe.
Another key initiative involves the development of a unified architectural concept for Foodex’s Moroccan pavilion to promote the sustainability label of “Morocco Foodex.” Funds allocated to the promotion budgets for 2025, 2026, and 2027 are expected to amount to MAD 120 million annually, according to the report.
The report also indicates that 94% of the 2023 promotional budget of EACCE, set at MAD 109 million, has been spent and the projected closing spend for 2024 is expected to be MAD 120 million.
Morocco’s agri-food sector exported 4.02 million tons in 2023, worth more then MAD 83.14 billion. The agri-food sector is one of the main foreign exchange earners, representing 19% of Morocco’s total exports as of the end of 2023.
