The Moroccan Association Al-Shifa – Healing – for Development and Training received the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Award for the best charity in the Arab world at a ceremony in Cairo, on Thursday.
Other organizations recognized for their contributions include around thirty charities from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Bahrain, Palestine, and Tunisia.
A total of 300 non-profit organizations from 17 Arab countries were nominated for the award, with the final stage involving 30 awards for nominees in three categories including large, medium, and small organizations.
The Arab Organization for Administrative Development (OADA) hosted the event in partnership with the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Foundation for Human Development.
Founded in Tangier in 1998, Al-Shifa for Development and Training targets development projects in partnership with national institutions and various international organizations. Its primary mission is to enhance educational services to meet the needs of all social groups while empowering local actors.
The Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Award, under the theme “Towards a Better Future for Institutional Charitable Work in the Arab World,” is intended to improve the performance of charitable institutions and humanitarian associations based on excellence criteria and performance indicators that reflect their effectiveness.
