French group Nouvelles Générations d’Entrepreneurs (NGE) has secured a significant contract valued at 111 million MAD, after having submitted the winning bid to Morocco’s National Railway Office (ONCF) for the construction of a 52 km railway line linking Nador West Port to the city of Selouane in northeastern Morocco, according to media reports.
Through its Moroccan subsidiary based in Casablanca, NGE will construct the necessary engineering and road infrastructure to support a rail corridor directly into the new Nador West Med port complex.
The complex is a key element in Morocco’s development strategy for the Oriental region, with construction having begun nearly a decade ago. When completed, it is expected to create significant synergies between the Tanger Med and Dakhla Atlantique ports.
The project includes the construction of three road bridges and two railway bridges, improving access to the new port. The single-track line will facilitate transportation between the port and the Selouane bus station.
The work is scheduled to begin by the end of this year, and the line is expected to be fully operational by 2027.
NGE, a global leader in construction and public works, has been active in Morocco for nearly 30 years, with its local headquarters located in Casablanca’s Oasis district.
