Morocco’s national football team moved up one spot in the latest FIFA Men’s rankings released on Thursday, ranking 13th globally with a score of 1681.57 ahead of Uruguay and just behind Croatia.
Led by head coach Walid Regragui, Morocco’s Atlas Lions secured two impressive victories against the Central African Republic, winning 5-0 and 4-0 during the third and fourth rounds of the Morocco-2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on October 12 and 15 at Oujda’s Honneur Stadium, located in the northeast.
The Ivory Coast (-7) and Tunisia (-11) have now dropped out of Africa’s top five teams, followed by Senegal (20th, +1), Egypt (30th, +1), Nigeria (36th, +3), and Algeria (37th, +4).
Argentina now ranks number 1 worldwide, followed by France Spain, and England. The next FIFA rankings will be published on November 28, 2024.
