Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) officers stationed at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport arrested a 27-year-old French national of Guinean origins, on Tuesday, against whom an international arrest warrant had been issued for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking, DGSN reported.
After verifying the Interpol database, the police identified the individual as the subject of a “red notice” issued at the behest of the French authorities in connection with his alleged involvement in a criminal network trafficking cocaine and heroin.
He was remanded into police custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
The Interpol Bureau in Morocco has informed the relevant French authorities of his detention before initiating extradition procedures.
