The Laayoune Hassan I Airport, located in the south of Morocco, recorded 183,740 passengers by the end of August 2024, an 8.95% increase year-on-year, the National Airports Office (ONDA) reported on Monday.
Last year, the airport welcomed 168,653 travelers during the same period.
The airport recorded 25,583 passengers in August, an increase of 2.69% from the 24,913 passengers recorded in August 2023.
The figures also show that the volume of movements at the facility reached 1,612 during the first eight months of 2024, a 7.47% rise from the 1,500 recorded in the same period of 2023.
ONDA noted that Moroccan airports recorded a commercial traffic volume of 21,410,804 passengers in the first eight months of 2024, representing an increase of 18.6% compared to the same period last year.
