Morocco’s national football team coach Walid Regragui is expected to travel to Europe to meet with Hakim Ziyech, midfielder and captain of the Lions of the Atlas, according to media reports.
Ziyech, who plays for Turkish football club Galatasaray, was not included in Regragui’s latest squad and missed the recent African Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Central African Republic held earlier this month due to injury.
The midfielder had also deleted nearly all his national team photos from social media shortly before the second match against the Central African Republic, which may have prompted Regragui’s decision to reach out to him.
Regragui also plans to visit Noussair Mazraoui, Manchester United’s right-back, Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid, and Crystal Palace defender Chadi Riad. He has said he would like to confirm their availability for the upcoming matches against Lesotho and Gabon in November.
