The Ciné-Maghreb Association will organize the 13th International Maghreb Film Festival from November 5 to 9 in Oujda, Eastern Morocco.
This year’s festival, held under the theme “Cinema Between Citizenship and Human Belonging,” will showcase more than 25 films in official long and short film competitions, with a special selection for children and outdoor screenings in various iconic locations throughout the city.
The long film competition jury will be chaired by renowned Moroccan director Idriss Lamrini and include notable members such as Spanish documentary filmmaker and actress Mercedes Ortega, Charles Scibetta, producer and director of the Cinéalma festival, Tunisian writer and filmmaker Mirvet Medini Kamoun, and Angolan actress Verónica Tshanda.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will recognize key figures in the film industry and arts sector and host a series of workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions, masterclasses, and meet-and-greet sessions with celebrities and honored guests.
The festival is intended to enrich the Maghreb’s artistic scene, strengthen cultural ties, and celebrate the region’s growing film industry.
