The Egyptian club Al Ahly won the men’s Africa Handball Champions League title, as did Angolan club Petro Atlético, in the women’s competition, in the finals of the competitions held in Laayoune, in the southern provinces of Morocco, on Saturday.
In the men’s final, Al Ahly defeated Flowers CNSS of Benin by a score of 43-22, thereby securing its seventh title. Petro Atlético secured the women’s title with a 35-30 victory over Tunisia’s AS Féminine du Sahel.
Notable figures attended the finals, including Abdeslam Bekrate, the Governor of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region and Mayor of Laayoune province; Mansourou Aremou, the President of the African Handball Confederation; and Hanafi Adli, the President of the Royal Moroccan Handball Federation, along with presidents of federations from the participating countries.
