A staggering 80.6% of Moroccan households reported a decline in their living standards over the past 12 months in the third quarter of 2024, according to a recent survey conducted by Morocco’s statistics office (HCP).
The data indicates growing concerns about the economic outlook, with only 14.6% of respondents citing no change in their living conditions, and a mere 4.8% noting an improvement.
While the balance of opinion regarding past living standards remains negative at minus 75.8 points, it has improved slightly from the previous quarter’s minus 78.2 points.
Looking ahead, 56.9% of households expect further deterioration over the next year.
