The draw for the African Football Confederation (CAF) Women’s Champions League will take place on Friday, at the Mohamed VI Complex in Salé, near Rabat.
The event will start at noon local time (11:00 a.m. GMT) and will be streamed live on CAF’s digital platforms, including its YouTube channel, as well as on partner networks.
The 2024 year’s tournament will run from November 9 to 23 in Morocco. Five new clubs will compete in the tournament for the first time, including Aigles de la Médina (Senegal), EDO Queens (Nigeria), University of Western Cape (South Africa), Tutankhamun (Egypt), and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC (Ethiopia).
Returning teams include two-time champions Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), the 2022 champions and hosts AS FAR (Morocco), and TP Mazembe (DR Congo), who are back after missing last year’s tournament.
Former AS FAR player and current assistant coach of Morocco’s U-23 women’s team, Fatiha Laasiri, was selected as a member of the draw committee. Laasiri is recognized for her contribution to women’s football in Morocco and is regarded as a role model for young players.
