The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency (BMAQ), an arm of the Al-Quds Committee, is featuring five startups launched by young Palestinians at its dedicated booth at the 3rd Expand North Star Forum in Dubai, held as part of GITEX Global 2024.
Closely aligned with the BMAQ’s digital strategy for 2024-2027, the booth includes the BMAQ Innovation Hub, an incubator for youth projects focused on innovation and creativity.
On Tuesday, the agency presented the key points of its digital strategy to partners and sponsors under the theme “Digital Development in Service of Economic and Social Development in Al Quds.”
The Palestinian startups are the second group of businesses supported by the BMAQ Agency through its Innovation Hub. The group includes five young entrepreneurs from Al Quds who are presenting project ideas related to an automated e-commerce competitive analysis tool, an innovative credit platform utilizing artificial intelligence, a transportation service optimization platform employing innovative systems, a medical device to enhance the safety and effectiveness of thoracotomy, and a project for networking and connecting merchants with suppliers.
Zohdi Bali, the young founder and CEO of the startup “Act Plus,” told Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) that “BMAQ Agency’s unprecedented support in the area of technology provides a beacon of hope for companies in Al Quds that lack funding and visibility at international events.”
Minister Mezzour also told MAP that “the ministry is committed to supporting the efforts of the BMAQ Agency in training young residents of Al Quds.” Such efforts will include providing an incubator that “allows them to participate in relevant international technology events, such as GITEX Global and Expand North Star.”
The BMAQ Innovation Hub program requires participants to engage in 190 hours of interactive courses over five months, focusing on entrepreneurial support and optimizing project promotion mechanisms, as well as providing access to funding and investment markets through participation in international exhibitions.
The first group of Palestinian startups sponsored by the BMAQ participated in GITEX Africa in Marrakech in July.
Expand North Star in Dubai, which runs until October 16, provides an opportunity for over 1,800 startups from 100 countries to showcase their digital technology products to entrepreneurs, investors, and funding institutions, exploring opportunities in this field and contributing to the future of the digital economy.
