Morocco’s Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, highlighted the Kingdom’s position as a digital hub for international investors under Morocco’s “Digital 2030″ strategy on Monday at the 44th GITEX Global in Dubai, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
Running until October 18, GITEX Global started with a conference entitled “Digital Dynamics in Morocco.” During the conference, Mezzour highlighted Morocco’s digital sector and the Kingdom’s greater goal of promoting the digital economy and accelerating national social and economic development.
She identified Morocco’s favorable characteristics, which contribute to making it a fertile ground for international digital investments. “Morocco has a young and skilled workforce in advanced technology fields; the government also offers attractive incentives for investors,” Mezzour said.
This year’s event provided the Ministry of Health and Social Protection an opportunity to showcase Morocco’s know-how in digitizing health services, to improve the country’s health system.
The Casablanca Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services participated in the event, showcasing its adoption of new technologies within its structures and among its members to support Morocco’s digital transformation ambitions.
The minister invited more national entities and startups to participate in the third installment of GITEX Africa, which Morocco will host in April 2025.
GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) Global, an annual tech expo held at the Dubai World Trade Center in the United Arab Emirates, brings together over 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, and more than 1,200 investors from nearly 180 countries, showcasing the rapid technological transformations, investments, and projects shaping the economies of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
