Moroccan runner Younes Benar won the Moscow Marathon held on Sunday, completing the grueling 42.1-kilometer course in an impressive time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 34 seconds.
His fellow competitor, Mahjoub Daza, finished the race just four seconds later, securing second place with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 38 seconds.
Russian runner Dmitry Nidelin came in third place, finishing in 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 40 seconds.
The Moscow Marathon, an annual event since 2013, attracts both professional and amateur athletes from across the globe.
Typically held on the last weekend of September, this year’s race attracted thousands of participants.
