Moroccan athlete Mohamed Chaaboud and Celestine Temko Kwachuwai from Kenya won the 23rd annual Maciej Frankiewicz Poznań Marathon, held this Sunday in Poland, according to a statement.
The race saw over 3,900 runners from 33 countries cross the finish line. Chaaboud delivered an impressive performance, finishing with a time of 2:10:42, the second-fastest in the marathon’s history.
Polish athlete Andrzej Rogiewicz claimed second place, finishing nearly eight minutes behind at 2:18:22. Ethiopia’s Kifle Melese rounded out the men’s podium, securing third place with a time of 2:21:49.
In the women’s competition, Celestine Temko Kwachuwai dominated the race, winning the top spot. Argentina’s Daiana Ocampo took second place, followed by Poland’s own Izabela Paszkiewicz in third.
