Head coach Walid Regragui called up Mehdi Maftah, the goalkeeper from RS Berkane, on Sunday following an injury to Yassine Bounou.
The announcement was made as the team prepares for their upcoming second-leg match against the Central African Republic in the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Bounou sustained the injury during the first round of the match against the Central African Republic, in which the Moroccan national team secured an impressive 5-0 victory.
With Bounou out of the lineup, goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi is expected to continue as the starter, while Salaheddine Chihab will serve as the backup.
