Morocco’s Meteorological Agency (DGM) cautioned that thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds, are anticipated on Monday, in multiple provinces across the Kingdom.
The agency issued an orange-level alert in a bulletin warning that severe weather with estimated rainfall between 30 and 60 mm will affect the provinces of Midelt, Tinghir et Errachidia until 8 p.m.
Similar weather conditions are forecast between noon and 11 p.m. in the provinces of Taounate, Taza, Tetouan, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khenifra, Boulemane, Sefrou, Azilal, Moulay Yacoub, Al Haouz, Al Hoceima, Ouarzazate, Chefchaouen, Fes and Figuig.
The DGM also warned of strong local gusts of 70 to 85 km/h in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Guercif, Taourirt, Boulemane, and Midelt between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday.
