Morocco’s airports welcomed 21,410,804 passengers by the end of August 2024, marking an increase of 18.6% compared to the same period last year, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).
This growth was seen across most airports, including Rabat-Sale (+42.04%), Dakhla (+35.37%), Marrakech (+30.62%), Agadir (+35.3%), Tangier (+20.71%), and Tetouan (+29.15%).
ONDA said that national traffic reached 2,230,104 passengers by the end of August this year, reflecting an improvement of 26.82% year on year.
International air traffic also experienced a rise of 17.71% compared to the end of August 2023, totaling 19,180,700 passengers. This growth is attributed to strong performances in the European (+18.71%), African (+17.41%), and Middle Eastern and Far Eastern (+11.88%) markets.
ONDA also reported 158,429 aircraft movements by the end of August, an increase of 15.08% year on year.
Air freight increased by 22.33%, surpassing 60,376 tons by the end of August 2024.
